Mark-Paul Gosselaar Calls Saved By The Bell ‘Hokey’

June 7th 2012 in Perez

Where’s Mr. Belding when you need him?!

Zack Morris Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently opened up about everyone’s favorite early ‘90s sitcom Saved By The Bell and let us know how he REALLY felt about it all!

Gosselaar revealed (while simultaneously breaking our hearts):

“It’s not a great show. The writing is kind of hokey… it’s very much a piece of that time.”

Well…DUH! That hokey-goodness is what made it so AHmazing, Zack!

Clearly Mark-Paul was — and seemingly still is — unaware of why the show had such an impact on ’90s pop culture!

He then went on to confess:

“We just thought we were doing a small little Saturday morning show and no one was watching. We were almost cancelled every season. So we never got big heads.”

Could you imagine if it had been cancelled?! We can’t even bare the thought!

May we be excused? Our inner ’90s kids are dying inside, as they gently weep.

Oh and, want to feel really old??? The show was cancelled 18 years ago. You’re welcome…!
