Heathers TV Show Has Landed At Bravo!
The sequel that Winona Ryder was hoping for may be dead in the water, but the spirit of her 1988 teen comedy classic will live on through an entirely new generation of fans!
We heard a while back that a script for a television adaptation of the movie was floating around Hollywood and now Bravo has confirmed they have decided to bring it to life!
As part of the reality network’s plan to start producing scripted “TV that pushes boundaries conceptually and thematically while still telling a fun story,” the show follows Ryder’s character (Veronica) in the present day after returning to Sherwood with her teenage daughter.
Despite the generational gap, times haven’t changed much at school. Veronica’s daughter must deal with the offspring of the film’s titular mean girls, who are no longer Heathers, but “Ashleys.”
We have no idea if Mz. Ryder will resume her role or if any of the other surviving characters will either, but it sounds like the job is definitely available if they want it!
