Axl Rose Talks Dissappointing Weekend In Britain
Apparently, neither the city of Leeds or Reading in Britain are the “paradise city” Axl was referring to in the song.
Over the weekend, Guns N’ Roses played concerts in Reading and Leeds Britain and were cut off before their set was over. Festival organizers say it was because the band was continuing to play past curfew.
In a post on Twitlonger.com, Axl wrote:
“Regardless, the nonsense just seems so unnecessary but without real management or industry presence is unfortunately beyond our control. We hope the fans feel they got at least what they could from us under the circumstances as for us all things considered that’s the main thing. The rest is filler.”
Festival organizers stand by their position, saying that Guns N’ Roses went on stage an hour late and were still given an extra 30 minutes to play.
Guitarist Richard Fortus sent out some tweets explaining the position of the band:
“I don’t think there is another band out right now that has the balls to do what we did last night. Axl insists on doing things his way and not playing by the f**king rules. You can love him or hate him for it, but the fact of the matter is… he’s the real f**king deal… Deal with it or not, but it won’t ever change.”
We think Guns N’ Roses might be a little too full of themselves at this point in their career. Maybe next time they won’t go on an hour late and piss of both fans and festival organizers.
